A Team Of Professionals

RUSE MOLESHE

Ruse Moleshe is a Development Finance Specialist with over 20 years of experience in energy and infrastructure in Sub Saharan Africa. Her experience spans a diverse range of skills and activities in energy planning, policy development, strategy formulation, project development, appraisal, implementation and monitoring. She has been involved in a broad range of projects including coal, gas, hydro, wind, solar, biogas, biofuels, bioelectricity, transmission, distribution, telecoms and logistics infrastructure.

Ruse has worked in leadership positions at the Department of Minerals and Energy, Department of Trade and Industry, Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA), Basil Read Matomo (an Engineering, Procurement and Construction contractor), Standard Bank, the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) and founded a Consulting business.

As part of the DBSA, she was involved in the development of the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP) since inception in 2009/2010. She took part in initiation of a bankable Power Purchase Agreement and selection of Transaction Advisors to support government to develop the world-renowned programme.

Ruse was the Head of the Industrial Infrastructure Unit at the IDC, with a capital allocation of R4 billion) and responsible for energy, logistics, telecoms and water sectors. Ruse led a team of fifteen professionals to formulate and execute strategy, source, develop, structure, finance and monitor power, water, telecoms and logistics projects. She championed transformation through appropriate structuring interventions to enable participation of black industrialists, youth and women.

Ruse is an Independent Investment Committee member of private sector entities and a former Non-Executive Director of Consolidate Wire Industries (Pty) Ltd. She has served as a panelist in numerous climate and infrastructure funds, identifying risks and providing thought leadership insights on investment decisions. Ruse worked with multilateral institutions to source concessionary funds and technical assistance to enhance project bankability. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (University of Fort Hare) and Bachelor of Science Honours: Energy Studies (University of Johannesburg).

Bukeka Mahlutshana

Has spent the past 20 years in various leadership and executive positions, having been involved in development finance and public transport sectors. Bukeka gained substantial experience in the area of financial management whilst working at an asset management company. Having worked at the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) in various positions, Bukeka gained critical experience in financial management and administration for municipalities; advising them on debt restructuring and their overall financial assessment and viability. She has worked in the corporate finance environment where she was responsible for the entire funding transaction process for private sector businesses, starting with initial evaluation of the commercial soundness of proposals; detailed due diligence; deal structuring; negotiating investment terms; through to deal closure. She gained critical skills in the area of BBBEE financing and advisory as well as private equity investing.

Bukeka has held CEO positions in the public transport space. Her experience cuts across strategy planning and development, business turnaround strategies, business recapitalization, co-ordination and execution of day-to-day functions of the company, business development, and stakeholder management. She is experienced in capital raising, having raised close to R1 billion for the procurement of a bus fleet for the BRT company. She has undertaken a number of benchmarking studies for BRT operations with international bus transport companies in advanced countries such as Singapore, Brazil, Colombia, Poland etc. Bukeka is a Non-Executive Director in several companies. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Business Management (University of Fort Hare), a Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Financial Management (UNISA) and a post graduate Diploma in Municipal Governance (University of Johannesburg).

Nomcebo Mpembe

A seasoned investment and consulting professional with 12 years of experience in the financial services sector. Nomcebo has worked for ABSA, National Empowerment Fund Trust (NEF), and the KwaZulu Natal Growth Fund Trust. Her experience spans a diverse range of skills and activities including business advisory services, corporate finance, private equity, risk analysis and reporting, advanced financial modelling and valuation techniques. She has a solid understanding of the Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment Act of 2005 and Code of Good Practice (B-BBEE).

She has led transactions in quarry mining, primary agricultural and agro-processing, tourism and hospitality, textiles, aquaculture, manufacturing and property development. She holds a BCom Honours (Business Management) from the University of Free State.
